TitleThe New Rural Poverty: Central Valley Evolving into Patchwork of Poverty and Prosperity
CommentsThis brief article documents rural poverty in the Central Valley, contrasting it with the region’s concentrated agricultural wealth. Poor towns grow increasingly so as they increasingly attract Latino/a migrants who are paid little for their labor. The authors suggest modifying immigration and labor laws so that farm workers can achieve higher wages.
