TitleThe truth won't set you free (but it may make the evening news)
CommentsThis article examines the ways that communities experiencing environmental injustice can and do make use of demographic data. It briefly describes how demographic statistics can be useful for community education and mobilization, as a “hook” for media attention, as support data for litigation efforts and in advocating the cause of environmental justice to state and other administrative officials. Communities, however, must investigate statistics to ensure their accuracy before developing strategies based on the trends they report.
